Pre-treatment by seperation and hydrolisation

The title is not complete, more correct would be: Pre-treatment by seperation of the biomass by disintegration, hydrolisation and separation.

We should learn to understand and accept certain natural processes to receive more effective and resistant biogas plants.

For example a high cell disruption has to be provided. The larger the surface of the particles, the higher the decomposition and the energy yield.

Distillery and biogas

Biogas plants are running successfully in distillery since many years. Biogas plants for distiller's wash are technically mature and work excellent also with distiller's wash as mono-substrate. The anaerobical fermentation is a natural process and the involved microorganisms are some of the oldest creatures on earth. We can not change the processes basically but we can support them positively. If the rules of nature are followed, a high efficient and trouble-free plant can be received.

Biogas and distillery - a synergetic relationship

Interestingly very often it is suggested that distiller's wash doesn't suit as mono-substrate for fermentation and always manure is needed. This nonsense is probably only spread because of the fact that these plant planners have no idea about the natural processes of fermentation. Contrariwise the energy yield from distiller's wash is much higher than from manure or manure-distiller's-wash-mixes. It should be very clear that the material which is used as animal feed should content more energy than the outgoing substrate.

Higher adding value of a biogas plant by process optimization

Biogas and housing estates - is that possible? To answer this question with "yes", the biogas plant has to be planned, constructed and driven correctly. That this question is asked anyway means that there are some negative examples of biogas plants. Especially simple planned and constructed biogas plants in the agricultural sector are less reliable and cause smell nuisances which can be spread over several kilometers. These badly constructed "home-made"-plants discredit the whole biogas technology...
